2008 12-13 Division Tournament Rules

Regulation Play

(Same Rules as Regular Season)

  • Coach must stay on their side and/or half of field.

  • No one is allowed behind the goals during the game.

  • Injured players must leave game until a proper substitution situation exists.

  • No Slide Tackling - any player slide tackling will be issued a yellow card.

  • Trash talking among players is forbidden. There will be no verbal warning issued.  A yellow card will be automatic.

  • Our first concern is SAFETY.  It is better for the referees to be over cautious when safety is concerned.

    1. In case of injury the referee will stop play immediately except if there is a breakaway toward the goal and the injured player is away from the action.  In such a case the referee will stand near the player and acknowledge the injury and also protect the injured player.  After the shot or goal or end run, play will be stopped immediately.

    2. The injured player must leave the field and when play resumes a dropped ball will resume play.

  • When a yellow card is issued the offending player must leave the field.

  • When a red card is issued the offending player must leave the game and will be forbidden to play the following game.  Referees must notify the Referee Coordinator and Commissioner.

  • When a foul has been committed and the advantage rule is in effect the referee will acknowledge the foul by displaying the proper signal.

  • Goal keeper has six seconds to kick or throw the ball.

  • SUBSTITUTION SITUATIONS

    1. Only on your throw-in

    2. After a goal is scored

    3. Injury - If play is stopped and a coach enters the field to assist an injured player, that player must be substituted. The other team may substitute one for one. The exception being that if the injured player is the goalie, the goalie may remain on the field if able to continue.

    4. Goal kick - either team may sub

    5. If play is stopped and a coach enters the field to assist an injured player, that player must be substituted. The exception being that if the injured player is the goalie, if the player feels able to continue they may remain on the field.

    6. Yellow card - carded player must have a sub, and the other team may substitute one for one

  • Abuse of referee by parents will result in an immediate ejection of child and parent.

  • Thirty minute halves

Overtime

  • In the Event of a Tie at the end of regulation play, a sudden death 10 minute overtime period will be played.

  • If the overtime period ends in a tie, a series of consecutive shoot-outs will be held until a winner is determined.

  • Each shoot-out will consist of 5 players per team.

  • Shots will be alternated between teams.

  • Teams cannot use the same players for more than one shoot-out until all players have participated in a shoot-out.

  • Goalies for the shoot outs must have played during regulation play or the overtime period and can be substituted at any time during the shoot out.
